What do the wine ratings mean?
Numeric scoring seems are too complicated. We have settled on a simple five star rating system that we think you will find useful. The ratings are an average of all users who have rated the wine.
5 Glasses - Outstanding - need we say more! The memorable wines
4 Glasses - Very good - we would never turn down an offer for a glass or bottle
3 Glasses - Good. Drink often
2 Glasses - Average. Drink if there is nothing else around
1 Glass - Poor. Undrinkable. Life is too short for bad wine.
What if I can't find ratings and information on a specific wine?
The list grows everyday, if you can't find a wine rating we invite you to send us an email or submit it via the Submit Wine link. We will promptly review and add all wines submitted.
What wines do you cover?
We plan to cover all wines, wineries and regions. We want this to be a very visual experience and as such we would like users to add pictures of labels if available. In the case where there are no labels available we will place a picture of bottle with the type of wine (e.g red, white etc.)
Is the price the retail price?
Pricing is given as a range and based on what the user paid for the wine. We realize in some cases the pricing will vary, for example if you tasted a wine in a restaurant, the retail pricing will be inflated due to restaurant mark-ups.
